EU start-up Magnet.me is now UK’s biggest student and graduate careers site

Recruitment start-up Magnet.me, the website which connects students with graduate employers, has now become the biggest student and graduate careers site in less than two years since launching in the UK.

Magnet.me currently hosts 3,050 internships, placements and graduate jobs, more than established specialists Milkround, Targetjobs and Prospects combined.

Magnet.me has disrupted the traditional model of businesses paying to post job opportunities on a 'jobs board’ and made it free for both companies and students to use and seek each other. This will enable start-ups, SMEs as well as larger businesses to publish opportunities and compete for the best talent.

By using smart technology and machine learning, Magnet.me presents relevant and timely opportunities to students and graduates with companies that resonate with their background and profile. Students can also connect with companies on Magnet.me, which allows them to get in touch with recruiters directly.

Business such as Unilever, J.P. Morgan, The InnerCircle, Simmons & Simmons, Virgin Media, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and hundred mores are posting opportunities on Magnet.me.

Having started life in the Netherlands, created in 2012, Magnet.me launched in the UK in 2015 with a mission to change the British graduate recruitment landscape. A year later, in 2016, they won the Department of International Trade Investment Award for Best New Entrant to the UK. Magnet.me has over 75,000 UK students and graduates registered who are seeking job opportunities, a 304% increase over the last 12 months.

Vincent Karremans, Founder of Magnet.me commented: “The scale of the impact is seismic and it’s only taken us two years to achieve this in the UK. Now, by making job posts free of cost, we’ve taken a step closer to achieving our ambition of connecting the right young people with the best opportunities.”

“Our technology has revolutionised the opportunities available for students and graduates. Previously, only large organisations monopolised the best talent but now, by opening the pool of opportunities to students and graduates, we have democratised the market.”

“For too long, students and graduates have been bombarded with marketing campaigns from the usual big corporates. Now, users will be sent carefully curated opportunities that match their profiles and background, and for sure, these opportunities will be much wider in scope”.

“We raised €1m from an investment round in February 2017, which has fuelled our growth and enabled us to become the number one careers site for students and graduates tin the UK.”
