Pacific Power Source offers the 118-ACX Low Profile AC Power Source

News

Pacific Power Source, Inc., PPS, introduces the 118-ACX, the latest addition to its line of manual and programmable AC Power Sources. With up to 2kVA in a 2U chassis, the 118-ACX offers the high power density and versatility demanded by today’s AC Test Power market.

The unit builds on proven PPS AC Power Source technology and delivers full-power throughout its 0-150V and 0-300V dual-range capability. The 118-ACX is ideal for AC test, frequency conversion, laboratory, and test-power applications. Worldwide input voltages and power frequencies are accommodated by the wide range, power factor corrected, input power supply. Compliance to CE, CSA, and UL test standards adds confidence to the design and allows the product to be shipped anywhere in the world. “The 118-ACX establishes a new bench mark when it comes to power density, features and price,” according to François Epp, Sales Manager Europe. “If you need an economical, compact, low-power solution to accomplish your complex testing, the model 118-ACX is the obvious choice.”

Like all AC Power Sources in PPS’s ASX Series, the 118-ACX converts power by high-frequency pulse width modulation, resulting in cool, quiet, and efficient operation. Utilizing the UPC-1 Controller, a fully integrated test system, the 118-ACX supplies a variety of power conditions to the device under test. It also meters and analyzes all output-performance parameters. With quartz-crystal-stabilized output frequency, the 118-ACX is a superior source of stable AC voltage over the frequency range of 15 to 1,200 Hz and voltages up to 300 V. The flexibility to provide multiple output ranges makes the 118-ACX an excellent choice for split (two-phase) or single-phase conversion.

The 118-ACX AC Power Source is equipped with PPS’s UPC-1 Controller, providing a powerful and user-friendly operator interface. Standard features of the 118-ACX include a 22 Waveform Library, Arbitrary Waveform Generator, RS-232 interface with SCPI, and 99 steady-state programs with associated transients for static- and dynamic-test applications. Available options include GPIB (IEEE-488.2) interface with SCPI, Load Surge Analysis and Waveform Capture, and UPC Interactive LabVIEWTM Libraries.

The 118-ACX is compatible with UPC Studio Software, a particularly versatile tool because of its unique Test Manager feature, which helps users quickly create and run Test Sequences and Test Plans. Test Sequences consist of one or more Output Sequences designed to execute a series of automated tasks that control and monitor the AC Power Source and other instruments. Test results are then stored in user-defined test reports. Test Plans manage and simplify complex tasks by allowing the user to link together a series of Test Sequences into a single test.
